Hey I love my PS3 as much as my 360.. but this is someone who would give any exclusive to the PS3 a 9.5+ score. They also really enjoyed Lair if you asked them. Same thing goes for 360 fanboys...
It is really hard to take a review serious when the score is so far off. And yes I have Haze sitting right next to me, rented it and 2 hours into the game it is painful to play. So I do have perspective.

It is all about cost. Lower the Blu Ray disc price and consumers might see a good alternative. Right now walk into a store and see the DVD version of a new release at $15 cheaper than the blu ray. Most average consumers see the same box art and are happy as can be with the cheaper option.

So odd to see these stories pop up today. My PS3 which is only 5 months old (40 Gig version) just stopped reading any sort of Disc yesterday... Not sure what I am going to do without my MLB The Show fix I need to satisfy every day but it certainly is a let down. I await my coffin from Sony.
I really think the 40 Gig versions were skimped on in order to get the price down... I am regretting not going with the 80 gig now.

You do realize you are not required to have a gold membership to download and play arcade games right? Oh thats right... you have no clue.
Pretty much every old school game has been updated to include online play for 5 bucks a pop. On the Wii you have many of the same games that cost more with no added features. And for the last 6+ months only a couple retro games have been released, most are original games designed for the arcade.
